Kevin McCarthy is an established West of Ireland painter living and working in Galway city. The paintings are bright, colourful and surreal-like; some originating in the local land/cityscape, others entirely imaginary with a contemporary/political edge to them. The medium is oil on canvas built up over layers with thinned-down paint to create a final solid clear image.
